Rowdy’s Support Page & Journal

Hi I am Rowdy! I am a three year old Boxer. When I was young my owners left me tied to a tree until the harness I was wearing became embedded in my skin. I did not like that very much. Luckily the nice people at BOCAR found me. Once I met up with the folks at BOCAR my life turned around. I was adopted and lived happily with my new family for over two years. I thought that would be my family forever. But sadly they were in financial trouble and with my bad knees I was just too expensive to keep. This made me very sad. I tried my hardest not to be expensive but I just couldn’t help it.
Luckily I was able to go back to BOCAR. Now I live with a foster family. They are pretty nice. There is a little human here that I like very much. And there are other dogs too! But it hurts too much to play so I am waiting until I get my new knees. Right now life is pretty boring. I am just in limbo waiting for my surgery. My foster family tells me that they are trying to fundraise so that I can get better faster. If you’d like to help sponsor my surgery please click here to donate.

Hi everyone! Last week I had my 1st knee surgery and let me tell you it wasn’t fun. But Dr. Schulman & all the
nice people at the Animal Medical Center of Southern California took really good care of me & now I am back at my foster home recuperating. My foster parents tell me everyday what a good boy I am. I stay in my crate and don’t complain at all. I even take my medicine…as long as it’s wrapped in a hot dog…yum! But if that is all true then why are they punishing me with this lampshade on my head?

Hi everyone! It’s been about 10weeks since I had surgery on my right knee and I am feeling GREAT!!! A few weeks ago Dr Schulman said I could go for walks again! This was WONDERFUL to hear because I LOVE WALKS! It’s been AWESOME to feel the wind in ears and the sun on my back! But for some reason we don’t go very far. I keep telling my foster mom that I’m not tired and ask her to keep going but she doesn’t listen. She says it’s because I am not supposed to “over do it” since my bones are still healing. Whatever that means?!?!?! So in order to burn off a little extra energy I spin 360’s while on my leash. Its SUPER fun! But my foster mom puts a stop to that too. She’s SO BORING! Right now BOCAR is raising money for the surgery on my left side. I still have a lot of trouble going from sitting to standing and vice versa. Hopefully once both my knees are strong that will get easier. If you’d like to donate to my 2nd surgery please click here. Below is some video of me I hope you enjoy it!

Hi everyone! Just a quick note to let you know I am doing great. It’s been almost four weeks since my 2nd surgery and I am recovering very well. I’m still on crate rest (which means no walks!) but my cast is off, woo hoo! It was IMPOSSIBLE to get comfortable with that thing on. As you can see in the picture I tried every possible position and still never got cozy. And did you see the color of it? Hello I’m a BOY! Anyway my foster mom says to check back in a few days for a new video. xoxox ~ Rowdy!

Hi everyone, this is Rowdy’s foster mom. Rowdy is too busy enjoying his new life to update his journal so I am here to announce that he was adopted by a wonderful family. He now lives with his new mom & dad, a cat named “Arco” and his new Boxer “girlfriend” Laila. Were told that Rowdy & Laila love each other so much that they are considering a wedding
This is what rescue is all about! Rowdy is one of the sweetest Boxers we have met. He is 100% love, incredibly good natured and totally deserving of this new happy beginning. Thank you again to everyone who helped him a long the way. Check out our facebook page for more pics…
